I have a painful thinness in my head, between my eyes, radiating over the bridge of my nose, courtesy of a recurring nightmare:
There is something odd about the sky, the moon is in pieces and next to it an odd design, a craft? as big as the moon once was. Pieces of the moon begin hurtling into the earth, into the city. I can predict their trajectories well enough to avoid harm, it is exhausting. What I can’t predict is which buildings will collapse and how, it is also exhausting. Waterfalls of stone, metal, glass, office supplies, papers, plants, human bodies, it does not compute no matter how many times I see it. And the aliens are not done, this is removed carnage compared to what is to come…
Even for the damage it’s done, I cannot blame the nightmare.
